Two Caravans

Two Caravans, presented by The Friend Publications is excerpts of a novel at the Edinburgh Festival on Wednesday 8 August 2007.

It is on at Venue 40, the Edinburgh Quaker Meeting House.

Entry is £5 and the play will easily fit into your lunch hour because it starts at 1pm and is less than an hour long.

Two Caravans is excerpts of the novel by Marina Lewycka (author of A Short History of Tractors in Ukranian.

Working in the shadows, exploited, often disrespected and feared by local people, Marina draws on her characters' plight with slapstick humour and brings their experience close, for when people laugh, they think – and often with compassion.

The Friend, the world’s only Quaker weekly magazine, is challenging its readers and those enjoying these excerpts of the novel to consider the exploited migrant in present day Britain.

Two Caravans at Venue 40 is directed by Colin George.
